More than a rugby club

Known as the 'Stags', Rossendale RUFC was founded in 1969 and we havent stopped playing rugby since. Our Minis & Juniors section offers age grade rugby from Under-5 right through to Under-17, with hundreds of children playing throughout the season.

Our mission is simple: give every child a positive experience of rugby. We coach the values of the game — Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship — and we measure success by enjoyment as much as scores. We coach skills, build friendships and have fun playing rugby.

What to expect

• Non-contact tag rugby for U5–U8, with contact phased in from U9.
• Friendly festivals and matches against neighbouring clubs.
• End-of-season presentation day, rugby outings and family socials.

Give it a try

New to rugby? Played before? Why not give it a try — get in touch and come along. If your child has never played rubgy, who knows if they will like it? Whilst we are confident they will, more often you just need to try something to find out and thats how we work. Its about making friends, building confidence, learning teamwork, and having fun.
